Over the last 18 months, the economic climate and credit squeeze in the property sector has led to a tough market for many in the bathroom industry. But one manufacturer is predicting a positive 2010 after responding to the challenge, with innovation, investment and the launch of a new product.
Three years ago, JT®, the UK's leading manufacturer, brought the first 40mm shower tray to market with the JT40® range, including the successful JT40® Natural collection. The innovative low profile tray ensures effective drainage while delivering a smart modern look for the increasingly design-conscious UK consumer.
Paul Crossley, Managing Director of JT®, said: "We see the market moving and demand for low profile trays increasing. Within three years the low profile sector will increase to nearly a third of UK shower tray sales. It is important that our industry responds to the householder's desire for a cost effective, yet fashionable, wetroom look, while ensuring the practicality of a shower tray.
"We will be looking to enhance our JT40® range over the next 12 months and this starts with the launch of our revolutionary new line, the JT40® Fusion."
Paul continued: "We have been pleased with the market's reaction. It has taken 12 months of investment and the introduction of increased flexible manufacturing procedures at our Leeds plant to bring the JT40® Fusion to market. It was vital we got the production process right so we could deliver a workable price point without compromising on quality, as well as the premium look and feel of the finished tray.
"The result is the market's first double skinned low profile tray with a 25 year guarantee. The double skin effectively gives the JT40® Fusion additional durability and strength. JT40® Fusion is also available to fit flat to the floor, or on legs with a Merlin riser kit.
The new launch will be supported by the company's biggest ever marketing campaign, ensuring the JT40® Fusion reaches its market potential.
Crossley added: "Committing and investing in our UK manufacturing capacity has without a doubt enabled JT® to expand and invest in new market leading products, despite the tough industry conditions.
"I passionately believe the way to drive market recovery in 2010 is to innovate, drive flexibility and quality of output, while decreasing costs to the end user."
