Seven colleagues from Carron Phoenix recently ventured forth on a memorial walk for Nicola Mateer, marketing co-ordinator at the company who died from cervical cancer at the untimely age of 32 in May this year. They raised £8,050 from friends, family, customers and suppliers which will be split between Cancer Research and Diabetes UK at her family's request.
The team walked the length of Loch Lomond, approximately 30 miles, following the route of the stunning West Highland Way in Scotland on 11-12 September.
Says Neil Clark, sales & marketing director: "Nicola made a tremendous contribution to the company during her time with us and we were all privileged to know her as a friend and colleague. The memorial walk proved tougher than any of us had expected, but worth the blisters given the amount of money raised, which will go to two very worthy causes. We would like to thank all those from within the kitchen industry who supported us with donations."
