Domestic & General has announced the winners of its renowned Total Excellence & Quality (TEQ) Awards. Five white goods repairers from across the UK have been recognised at the 2009 events held in Scotland, Reading and Leeds, for outstanding commitment to customers. The Award is based on the responses to over 420,000 questionnaires distributed to consumers after a repair was carried out.
Overall winner, Rotherham based Domestic Appliance Repairs, celebrated going one better on last year's second place award. The firm of engineers, who operate throughout Barnsley, Chesterfield and Sheffield, have featured in the top 10 of every TEQ Award since 2001.
Husband and wife team Kevin and Bridie Heath collected the award at a special dinner held at the Oulton Hall Hotel in Leeds hosted by D&G Service Director Lawrence Harrison. Commenting on the win Bridie said "Over the last year we have endeavoured to maintain our high standards during what has been a difficult trading climate. We are pleased our endeavours have paid off."
Other firms rewarded at TEQ 2009 include Chelmsford's Appliance Engineers, South Wales based family repair firm The Appliance Service, and Hull's GT Electrical. TEQ Scotland saw Dundee appliance specialists Domestic Repair Agency feature in the TEQ awards for a record 11th time.
The TEQ Awards, established in 1998, are based on UK's largest independent survey on customer service and serve as a benchmark for excellence within the repair industry.
