Economical choices drive latest trends in the shower market

Today's consumer is far more sophisticated in terms of design, but despite enormous efforts by the industry as a whole, the shower and its control components are still quite complex and advice very much depends on the retailer and/or plumber. For consumers, the key criteria when making the purchase decision will very much depend on the type of functionality required and the look and style of products.

One of the most significant trends in bathroom design today, is the transition of the environment itself and how it is fast evolving to become the focus of a home. The bathroom has been transformed into a hybrid space, which extends beyond being a room for cleaning and grooming and into a space where you retreat to relax. However, budget and space can be an issue and nowadays manufacturers are offering many affordable options that provide the consumer with a whole showering system ready to install as well as compact solutions.

Advanced technology is another trend coming into the bathroom, meaning environments can be tailored for individual preferences from digital showers to taps. Over the past few years there has also been a growing concern for the environment, which has made quite an impact on the market and we are seeing far more water saving solutions coming through, with some showers offering an impressive 50% reduction in water usage.
