Semi-Frameless enclosures allow retailers to offer consumers a cost-effective high-style alternative to expensive upmarket ‘frameless' alternatives. In clean, contemporary designs, Flight SFE doors and panels can be combined to give up to 19 different enclosure styles: from large walk-in areas to more compact arrangements for en suite situations.

A new, unique ‘Slide & Lock' system from Mira removes the need to drill the frame and makes adjustment easy, simplifying and speeding up the installation process.

‘Slide & Lock' comprises a ‘square U' wall channel profile that incorporates an innovative fixing mechanism that allows for a huge 29mm of adjustment on out-of-true wall. The shower panel is offered into the ‘U' and - when square and level - is secured with a simple quarter-turn from an Allen key.

Similarly to panels, pivot doors can be hung accurately and quickly thanks to the ‘Slide & Lock' mechanism which is incorporated into the pivot blocks. If the width of the wall channel needs to be extended, an 18mm filler kit is also available.

Finished enclosure heights - above the tray top - are 1.87m. The innovative frame design creates that all important feeling of light and space, further enhanced by the use of rigid 6mm toughened safety glass in all styles (apart from the walk-in enclosure, which uses a 5mm section). All frames are offered finished in polished silver - the finish which accounts for 90% of demand from consumers seeking this type of product.

With reversible doors for left and right hand opening, save for the walk in and quadrant styles, and both alcove and corner formats possible; the Flight SFE range is the perfect solution for creating a stylish yet functional showering experience. All enclosures are power shower approved - with the exception of the walk in model - so providing a safeguard against wet and slippery floors. Further peace of mind is offered with a 10-year guarantee.

Quality is integral to all Mira shower enclosures, and the SFE is no different. Doors are tested for 32,000 slam cycles - equivalent to 20 years use by a family of four showering daily. Similarly, every panel tested to BSEN14428+A1 (2008) which represents the impact of being hit by a 20 stone person falling over.

Fixtures and fittings subject to immersion - such as pivot block pins and screws - are stainless steel to give consistent performance over a lifetime of use. Dual-roller bogies with stainless steel, full compliment ball races ensure smooth and consistent performance of sliding doors (including quadrants).

Door handles are ergonomically placed to also ensure smooth, easy operation and, importantly, resist flexing doors out-of-true as is the case in non-centred frame integrated handles.
