The heated towel rail now an essential addition
By GEOFF JONES, Director, Aestus

The heated towel rail is at last being considered an essential addition to the modern day bathroom with many designers incorporating them in their initial designs or at the very least, leaving space for them, as they are now as an important element which goes towards making the space as user friendly as possible as sanitary ware and brassware.

With this strong demand now in effect, it is vital that manufacturers do not become complacent in their designs as the market has great potential not to be wasted.

The familiar “ladder-style” heated towel rail continues to prove popular with all the variations there are available but for manufacturers to offer exciting alternatives such as the bench style radiator allows the designer to incorporate heating in to a bathroom with an even stronger design element and dual functionality to boot.

Aestus has recently expanded its offering of bench radiators to reflect this and demonstrates a move in the market, bringing this type of heating source bang up to date through the use of materials such as stainless steel and modern woods including Wenge and Oak coupled with contemporary design.

The perception that a bench radiator should be reserved only for large spaces is a changing one thanks to lengths as little as 650mm being offered, and given the added functionality and luxury a bench gives to a bathroom it is well worth sacrificing space elsewhere to accommodate one if needs be.

For the consumer, the benefits of the bench are three-fold: supplying heat to the bathroom, offering a comfortable place to sit and dry after bathing and providing a neat surface in which to stack and warm folded towels.

It is key the retailer thinks outside the box when it comes to displaying heating appliances for the bathroom to inspire customers and designers to create something just that little bit different.
