Carron Phoenix celebrates 250 years
Published:  03 September, 2009

September sees Carron Phoenix reach a momentous milestone in the company's history, celebrating 250 years of Carron heritage at its Falkirk site in Scotland.

Carron Phoenix can trace back its roots to 1759 when the Carron Company was established as an iron foundry in Falkirk and was a major driver of the Industrial Revolution in Scotland during the 18th and 19th Centuries. At one time the company employed around 5000 people, operated its own fleet of steamships and even issued its own currency to enable trading around the globe.

Fast forward to 2009 and Carron Phoenix is said to be the UK's largest dedicated sink manufacturer, employing 350 people and turning over in excess of £40 million. During its celebratory year which kicks off in September, the company is planning to hold an open day at its Falkirk headquarters and a customer event in early 2010.
