At this year's 100% Design, Roca will present the 11 finalist projects for its 3rd International Design Contest, Jump the Gap. The final shortlist includes the winner whose name will be revealed by John Pawson, architect and president of the jury, on the Roca stand (G20) on 24th September.
Roca's 3rd Jump the Gap competition was launched at 100% Design last year and encouraged young designers to put forward innovative solutions for the future; "jumping the gap" between the present and the future, inviting us to move into tomorrow's world with new products, new spaces or new uses and functions.
The list of finalists, which includes projects from seven countries, is headed by Spain, with three finalists, followed by China and Russia with two each. The Czech Republic, France, Poland and Portugal complete the list of countries of origin of the chosen projects.
The jury, made up of renowned figures from the world of architecture and design, such as John Pawson, Héctor Serrano, Carlos Ferrater, Josep Congost, Alfredo Häberli, Carlos Lamela, Alberto Meda and Chantal Haimade, has chosen the most innovative projects from the 382 that were entered.
The name of the winning project will be revealed on 24th September, coinciding with the beginning of the 100% Design Trade Fair, a reference international meeting place for professionals in design, interior design and architecture.
