Trevor Herbert, Technical Sales Manager for LDL (South) Ltd, is to retire on 28 July 2009 after 46 years in the furniture fittings industry.
After an apprenticeship with a timber company, Trevor joined a builders' merchant, initially as a showroom manager before becoming an area sales representative. Then, in1971, Trevor joined his brother's company, Hebert Furniture Fittings Ltd, and became a driving force within this company, forging unique links with Hettich, PEKA, and Wesco. The company thrived but sadly closed in 2003 due to the untimely death of Trevor's brother.
Word quickly got round the industry and Trevor was invited to join Isaac Lord as Technical Sales Manager in June 2003. Later that year, Trevor was delighted to be asked to set up LDL with Matthew Lord - a challenge he says he could not refuse. On 1 October 2003, LDL was launched, offering BLUM, PEKA and Wesco products.
Commenting on his long career, Trevor says "I am very proud of what I have achieved in this industry; the changes I have seen, the companies I have been involved with, and all the people I have met. I wish them all a happy and prosperous future, including the wonderful friends at PEKA and the special people at BLUM and WESCO, without whose help I could not have achieved everything I have today.
Matthew Lord, Managing Director of LDL (South) Ltd, wished Trevor well, saying "Trevor's enthusiasm and dedication has been a great asset to LDL on a day to day basis over the past six years and his assistance with the start up was invaluable. It has been a pleasure working with him and we wish him a happy and prosperous retirement."
