Black is back in vogue and is new colour of the modern designers choice

Black is in vogue at the moment, because this neutral, timeless colour perfectly fits the trend for glamour and appeals to both sexes. It can be combined with white to achieve a classic monochrome look or rich tones like red or gold to create an adult and luxurious ambiance.

When black is the chosen colour for a bath it adds definition emphasizing every line and curve to heighten the profile of that product within the room. Freestanding baths in particular look stunning when specified in black as every curve is accentuated, especially if in a material like our 3.5mm steel enamel which has a lustre which catches and reflects the light.

In addition to baths and shower trays; showers, basins and storage furniture are also available to co-ordinate, either completely in black or combined with white. High gloss black tiles are also on-trend and again have the effect of adding drama by reflecting the light and almost creating a wet-look to the room.

Black as an emerging colour choice marks a trend away from cream and light neutral colours. Many design schemes now are still keeping to natural tones but darker and richer to make the room feel warm and more exotic. If well-lit, dark schemes even in small spaces can feel cosy and luxurious.
