Bristan chooses D&G for new extended warranty business

Domestic & General, the UK's leading breakdown protection provider, has been selected by Bristan to supply and administer its new range of extended warranty products. Marketed under the BristanCare banner, the company will offer 2-year and 5-year extended warranties on its class leading range of power, mixer and electric showers.

Customer Service Operations Manager, Bill Wilson commented: "Customer service is central to our operations at Bristan and we already have a number of initiatives in place to ensure that the customer has a positive experience throughout their journey with us. Our partnership with D&G complements all of this, especially our BristanCare proposition, and reaffirms our commitment to delivering extraordinary levels of customer service."

As part of the five-year agreement, D&G will supply in-box product registration cards and on-product warranty stickers as well as targeting Bristan's customer base with bespoke mail and telemarketing. Product registration as well as extended warranty sales will be handled by D&G's flagship Nottingham call centre, while repair and service calls will be routed directly to Bristan's nationwide network of dedicated engineers. Unlike insurance-based warranty schemes, D&G's service-plan warranty products offer customers direct access to engineers without the hassle of making an insurance claim.

Part of the BristanCare offering will include D&G's innovative Repair + 1 scheme on all Bristan products. This scheme allows customers who have not purchased a traditional extended warranty to pay a simple fixed fee for a repair should the product go wrong outside of the statutory guarantee period. In addition, Repair +1 customers receive the full benefits of a one year BristanCare service plan following the repair.
