TTA Awards 2009
Best Use of Tile in a Domestic Environment sponsored by Bathroom & Kitchen Update Magazine
Published:  15 April, 2009

Use of tile in the domestic environment can make the difference between an average and an awe inspiring home. This award recognises the impact that a well designed project can have in an individual home.

The finalists for the 2009 Award are:

Evesham Private Pool by Craven Dunnill & Co. Ltd.

The last part of this luxury home was an indoor pool. As with any area subject to frequent contact or total submersion in water, the technical performance of the tiles used on such project is of paramount importance.

South Yorkshire family bathroom by CP Group

This family bathroom was given a contemporary new look using Tundra African Glazed porcelain tiles from CP Group's Quattro collection. For a special finishing touch glass strips were added in the shower area and at the foot of the bath.

Welwynbury, Church St, Farndon by Studio Ceramics Ltd

This late 1960's house in the conservation area of old Farndon Village has recently been extended and renovated to provide modern open space living accommodation and the extensive use of ceramic tiles has been fundamental in the design.

Winchester House by Taylor's Etc.

Winchester House is a perfect example of a project where tiles have been used to offer not only a hardwearing surface but more importantly, an interior design element that introduces pattern, colour and texture to the internal design scheme.

The winner will be announced at Tile Association Awards Dinner on Saturday, 25th April 2009 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. Headlining the event will be Siren, a unique, energetic and dynamic female string quartet featuring four of London's top string players. You can book a ticket on the TTA website.
