BA’s beautiful additions
Published:  01 June, 2007

Northern Ireland-based vinyl wrapped door and component manufacturer BA Components is currently enjoying unprecedented levels of success in both the Irish and UK markets.

Based in a 75,000 square foot purpose built factory in Cookstown, investment in state of the art CNC and robotic processing machinery has allowed BA to produce consistently high quality products.

The entire complex and store is temperature controlled 24 hours a day every day of the year by a burner and boiler system fuelled using the company's wood waste. Control of the humidity in both the stores and factory ensures consistency in the quality of all raw materials brought into production. This is key to efficiency in production and therefore the high quality of the end products.

BA currently operate three pressing lines using advanced software to calculate lay-up for the pressing process which sends the relevant information directly to screens for the press controllers. Advanced in-line cleaning machinery at pre-gluing and post pressing stages maintain a consistent high level of product at all stages of processing, drilling and packing. Final inspection is a crucial part of the process to further ensure that all products leave in first class condition.

Never a company to “rest on their laurels” and proud of their reputation to lead rather than follow in the market, BA are launching a new stage of development.

Managing Director Brian McCracken hopes the next ambitious stage of expansion will help them build on an already strong position in the Irish and UK markets.

“We’ve seen phenomenal growth over the last few years,’’ he says. “Our turnover is showing double digit growth year on year for each of the last five, and with the investment we have made in people and product development, we aim to sustain and build on this growth by further expanding our premises and product range.’’

This year will see the Cookstown production facility expand by a further 12,000 square feet, and the product range grow from the current 22 door designs and 28 colours. All these doors marketed under the BELLA brand, are available in standard and non standard sizes and all designs are available in all colours.

Quality, design and service are the watchwords associated with the BELLA door range, and the recent launch of five new Kieran McCracken original designs and eight new colours supported by a 2007 “additions” brochure has already proved a great success. Sales of more than double initial expectations prove the reaction to the new designs and colours has been exceptional.

David Caulfield, BA’s Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “Immediately after sending out the new samples, we realised we had a winning combination of colour and design, the response has been fantastic. The consultation process we used to canvass opinion from both retailers and consumers prior to launch has paid dividends.’’ BA will now follow this initial launch with further cutting-edge designs, colours and accessories later this year.
