EGGER Eurolight worktops
Versatile, high quality finishes at almost half the weight EGGER makes contemporary ‘chunky' trends easier to install
Published:  17 March, 2009

EGGER UK, Europe's leading manufacturer of wood-based panel products has fused its stylish new worktop range with its innovative Eurolight technology to create high-quality, fashionable work surfaces that are easy to handle and install.

60mm Eurolight worktops are 41% lighter than traditional 38mm chipboard core worktops yet retain excellent stability thanks to   their unique honeycomb structure.

Andrew Sanderson, EGGER UK's product manager commented:  "Contemporary design demands thicker, chunky styles, but this has obvious drawbacks - heavier worktops means greater logistics costs and more awkward installation. However, Eurolight worktops are significantly lighter, which solves the disadvantages associated with thicker work surfaces instantly and provides a solid premium look without the premium price tag."

The lighter worktops mean that transport costs are reduced   and manufacturers and  fitters will find that they are far easier to handle and cut. EGGER has developed a range of technical support to ensure that installations including hob and sink cut outs are also simple and straightforward.

The new range of 18 worktop finishes offers the latest decors and textures, featuring contemporary trends like oxidised metal alongside traditional finishes such as granite and terrazzo.

All 18 finishes are available either as 38mm Eurospan Worktops (chipboard core) or 60mm Eurolight Worktops (cardboard honeycomb core) and  Eurolight worktops are the lightest FIRA certified 60mm worktops available.
