Wellbeing through water
Duravit unveil exciting innovations for 2009
Published:  17 March, 2009

New for 2009, Duravit will continue to expand its activity in the wellbeing sector with the introduction of two entirely new product segments.

Inipi - the first sauna from Duravit

Developed by Vienna-based design group EOOS, Inipi is  Duravit's first-ever sauna. Representing the ultimate well-being bath concept, Inipi breaks out of the confines of the basement and brings the sauna to new areas of the home.

Thanks to cleverly concealed technology, the cabin itself has an extraordinary transparent visual design and practical compact dimensions. With dimensions of just 235x117 cm, Inipi offers sufficient space for two people and there is also a version incorporating a shower module that can be added to the side or front of the cabin.

A relaxing session in the Duravit sauna uses a remote control - in the form of a stone to operate and adjust all functions: temperature, air humidity, and coloured light and sound transporting users to another world - far removed from the stresses of everyday life.

PuraVida - the new poetry of lightness in the bathroom

PuraVida is a new a complete bathroom collection from Duravit from the studio of Phoenix Design.  In stark contrast to other square-edged minimal designs, PuraVida is the result of a design process that sought to a find a natural form, one that was both soft and pure.

All lines are exceptionally soft and give the range a sense of effortless motion - the products are ethereal-like and seem to float. The wallmounted furniture highlights this floating effect: consoles, vanity units and tall cabinets are gently rounded in all three dimensions and feature a glossy white finish. The emotional movement occurs on the furniture surface, which is available in a choice of deep red or classy black paired with high-gloss white, ebony or aluminium. Together, twelve ceramic models, thirteen pieces of furniture and seven bathtubs successfully evoke just that: soft, flowing, timeless elegance.

Pool System

Another wellbeing segment for 2009 is the new Pool System for bath tubs featuring 40 nozzles which provide a range of functions from power massage to a bubbling bath.  Unlike smaller whirlpool baths, the water in this pool system is not drained after bathing and is heated to remain at a constant 38°C to be used any time day or night. Behind the simplicity of the white or white/steel design is a powerful threefold regeneration system that turns the bathroom into a first-class spa.
