VADO leads the way with its H2ECO range
Published:  17 March, 2009

As improvements in lifestyle and technology progress it has been reported that many UK households are now using up to fifty five per cent more water than twenty five years ago.  Half of this amount is used in the bathroom. Government legislation under the guise of the CFSH (code for sustainable homes) offers a guide to planning authorities to grant planning permission for new developments.  In fact in order to assist with adhering to these requirements VADO has included in its H2ECO literature a user friendly water calculator issued by the Building Research Establishment providing clear and precise definitions to aid the installer.   H2ECO has been specifically designed with these recommendations in mind.

In a range of designs to suit any style or interior H2ECO reduces flow rates which do not hamper performance, with regulated basin mixers to 5 L/min, showers to 6 L/min and sink mixers to 5 L/min all reducing costs and consumption whilst managing the expectations of the home owner.  The flow regulator can be fitted to almost all of the VADO range of brassware. It can also be purchased separately and fitted quite simply to older brassware, providing ecological and energy saving benefits to the home and also complying with the stipulations found in the Home Improvement Packs when selling a property.

Commercial Director Sarah Williams says "Energy saving is a large part of our focus in 2009.  On average in the UK, we each use around 150 litres of water per day.  The actual process of moving, cleaning and treating the water, even before it is used also has a direct impact on our environment, notwithstanding the financial cost.  The UK has less available water per person than most other

European countries; whilst according to reports the South East of England has less than the desert states of Syria and Sudan!  So at VADO we have taken on the mantle and produced the H2ECO series. If we do not take action now, climate change and population shifts mean the UK will face increased water stress in the future. It has been shown that homes, which have not previously examined their water consumption, can usually achieve around 30% savings on water bills immediately, by implementing simple water management measures, our H2ECO range does   just that."
