Hansgrohe - Top of the design tree
Published:  17 March, 2009

In November 2008, Hansgrohe was ranked as the top manufacturer for design within the bathroom industry by the internationally renowned iF awards body and at ISH, the Company reaffirmed that it was deserving of this accolade with an exciting line-up of new product collections and trend-setting ideas for the bathroom.

Axor Urquiola

A key launch for 2009 is Axor Urquiola, a fresh addition to the Axor designer portfolio. Created by Spanish born designer, Patricia Urquiola, this complete bathroom collection offers brassware, showers, accessories, bath, basin and even a towel warmer that doubles as a room divider. As one of the few female designers in the sanitation industry and the first female designer in Hansgrohe's history - the company realises a very emotional approach with regards to the design language, aesthetics and the tactile experience. The collection builds on the strong eclectic trend in interior design to mix materials, scale, styles and even cultures.

This is also the first time that Axor offers a complete bathroom. The industry has become familiar with Axor proposing room concepts for its various collections, but for Axor Urquiola, the room concepts are supported with all the relevant products.

PuraVida

With a combination of white lacquered surfaces and shiny chrome, this new collection of mixers and showers from the studio of Phoenix Design, introduces the new dual-finish principle to the bathroom. Thanks to a new manufacturing technique, these two surfaces merge seamlessly, representing a sign of high-quality perfection and creating a design that is elegant and subtly luxurious.

Innovation highlights in this collection include the overhead shower which is produced by merging two high-quality zinc die-cast halves. The result is an unusual flat rectangular shape which, with a width of 40cm, perfectly follows the silhouette of the showerer. The flat hand shower is brilliantly designed to sandwich Hansgrohe AirPower technology and features a new massage spray with five finger-like whirling jets plus the EasyClick push button for effortlessly switching between spray modes - another industry first from Hansgrohe.

Shower Pipes Delight

As always, Hansgrohe pulls out the stops when it comes to showering comfort, style and versatility. Among the new launches for 2009, is the Raindance E 420 shower pipe with an elegant overall design and a lightweight appearance along with some refreshingly new functions. For the very first time, a shower pipe offers multi-jet showering pleasure with a choice of two spray types available: a shoulderwide air-enriched rain spray made possible by Hansgrohe AirPower technology and a clear, wide flood jet for powerful and pampering showering enjoyment.
