More than one clear advantage
Published:  16 March, 2009

AllClear® is the exclusive stay-clean coating launched as an integral part of the Classic Collection of products by Lakes Bathrooms last year. Since its introduction, this invisible feature has had some very noticeable results as the company continues to grow in line with interest in this value-adding advantage.

The coating is now applied without any incremental charge to all silver framed shower enclosures, doors and bath screens in the Classic Collection. Prices start from just £200 to include hi-tech AllClear. With the treatment, Lakes claim its products stay sparklingly clean and take much less effort and expense to keep looking as good as the day they were fitted.

Technical Advantage

AllClear works at a microscopic level, by bonding to the glass as an invisible hydrophobic layer which acts like a smooth shield to prevent any build up. It repels water, soap scum, limescale and dirt, which makes for improved hygiene on any treated surface.

The advantages are clear to the consumer according to sales director Robin Craddock; "In the showroom we know that the concept of easy cleaning is very well received and that has been proven by our sales figures, even in these tougher times. This is all about value; giving extra reasons to buy now, plus delivering cost-savings in the lifetime care of the shower enclosure or bath screen."

Valuable Advantage

From a trade perspective, Lakes Bathrooms have other advantages to share. The company holds considerable stock in its UK warehouses - typically over 18,000 pieces - and offers free delivery nationwide, mostly on a next day basis. This relieves the retailer the cost of stock holding and gives a positive cashflow advantage to the merchant on any purchase.

Lakes Bathrooms also support the trade with product for display, point of sale signage and impressive literature. A promotional video is available to demonstrate the application of AllClear which is freely supplied by DVD or as a website download. Hands-on support is provided by a team of engineers who work to support the trade and carry out showroom installations. "We are doing everything we can to differentiate our products and our way of operating," said Robin Craddock.

"We are focused on innovation and our latest launch is a free sample service for consumers so they can try the AllClear coating for themselves by requesting a small SwiftTM sachet. This will be available via our website, where we also introduce would-be buyers to our stockists. There have to be advantages all round - value for the customer and business for the trade."
