Intatec experts shower design for visually impaired
Published:  04 February, 2009

Some of the next generation anti-scald shower valves from Intatec are being developed in conjunction with the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) to ensure ease of operation for the visually impaired.

The shower valves have not been specifically designed for the less able, but are being reviewed by the RNIB who will suggest any design enhancements that could improve usability.

Cynthia Fisher, Intatec's commercial director said: "Our range of showers is about aesthetics as well as comfort, safety and control. It is important that we design-in features that make our products the most usable for most people. Without compromise on style, our design team have considered usability for people who are less able, and input from the RNIB has helped to create products that are even more user friendly."

Intatec is a leading manufacturer of anti-scald taps, valves and showers with technical and design teams able to advise on the specification and adaptation of its products for delivering hot water at safe temperatures in bath, shower and wash rooms in domestic, healthcare and commercial environments.
