Everybody deserves good design; that's the proposition from Bristan as it prepares to launch its most comprehensive portfolio of easy to use products to date.
Working closely with occupational therapist Kate Sheehan, Bristan has brought together around 100 bathroom products to create ‘iD', a collection of well designed, easy to use products that are suitable for all ages and abilities.
The iD collection will be showcased at this year's Naidex exhibition (28-30 April at the NEC, Birmingham), and Bristan believes there is plenty of potential in the range for bathroom retailers. Judith Gibbons from Bristan explains: "For the first time ever, there are more people in the UK who are over 55 than there are people under 18. This demographic is incredibly cash-rich, accounting for 40% of consumer spending in the UK, presenting retailers with a huge revenue opportunity."
It's not just the elderly that are the focus of Bristan's range. Judith continues: "iD features a host of products, from sanitaryware through to walk-in shower enclosures and brassware that are suitable for people of all ages, sizes and ability. This includes families with young children and those with mobility problems.
"All products are well designed, aesthetically appealing and will not alienate the people who need to use them. After all, no one wants their bathroom to look like a hospital."
Bristan will be supporting the launch of iD with a POS and marketing campaign.
