Donning their running shoes for the Great North Run, Ian Holmes, regional director for the South and Midlands and Andy Sutton, Business Development Director at IDS raised an amazing £4,100 for charity.
The sum raised was donated to the British Heart Foundation in memory of their former colleague Dave Woodhouse, known to all in the business simply as ‘Woody'. He died of a heart attack aged 59 last year. Woody, a Flooring Sales Representative working for IDS Nuneaton, had a long career in the decorative surface industry and was a popular figure with his customers and within the company. Ian Holmes, who had known Woody for 20 years explained:
"It's been a huge honour running in memory of Woody and I'd like to thank the many customers, suppliers, colleagues, family and friends who have sponsored Andy and myself and without whom we could not have raised this fantastic amount."
Andy has now been inspired to run the London Marathon next year for the British Heart Foundation, and anyone wishing to sponsor him may do so by logging on to: www.justgiving.com/andys26miles.
