Get the right facts about Mini mixers
"Beware those who copy and then knock their competitors," says Roger Crabb, marketing manager for Mira Showers.
Published:  02 December, 2008

If you're looking for a comprehensive range of Mini mixers that offer style, compact dimensions and great performance, then look no further that the Mini mixers range from Mira Showers. Launched at the end of 2007, the Mini range has been added to throughout 2008 with new models offering even more choice and benefits to complement Mira's already extensive range of standard-sized mixer showers.

Comparisons being made in advertisements run in current issues of the kitchen and bathroom trade journals are unfair and misleading. Roger Crabb, marketing manager for Mira Showers comments: "These advertisements are very misleading for retailers and any installers and consumers who might see them. This kind of advertising is not necessary. At Mira we prefer to extol the benefits and features of our own products rather than knock our competitors."

Roger continues: "All of Mira's showers are based on extensive market research and consultation with customers. The Mini mixer valve range was introduced in line with the global trend towards miniaturisation of high technology items, and to satisfy customer demand for a more compact product that was suitable for smaller bathrooms and shower rooms, yet still retained the standards of manufacturing quality, performance and looks that Mira's products are renowned for."

Half the size of standard sized mixer valves, the Mini range is available in built-in and exposed single sequential control valves (Minilite) and built-in and exposed concentric control valves (Miniduo). Mira fittings kits complement both models.  During 2008, Minilite and Miniduo have be added to with the new ‘eco' products; the Mira Minilite Eco uses a factory fitted flow regulator to restrict flow to 6 lpm (8 lpm alternative included in the pack), while Miniduo is available with Mira's revolutionary Eco Showerhead turning it into a truly ‘green' product.

Key benefits

Mira's Mini mixer valves are really ‘mini', having just 110mm pipe centres for the ultimate minimalist look in new installations, unlike other products on the market that still have 150/153mm pipe centres yet still claim to be ‘mini'. For maximum flexibility, however, the Mira Mini range can also be used for the replacement market, as there is an Extended Elbows Pack available for retrofitting to existing pipework with pipe centres between 133 to 153mm.  Performance has not been sacrificed and Mira can boast great performance on any water system, even at low pressure: "5.5 lpm from the handset at 0.1 bar - not measured from the valve which is unrepresentative.

Safety is always built into Mira's products and the Mini range have TMV2* accredited thermostatic performance. "All our Mini mixers have been certified to the highest thermostatic standard for domestic and light commercial use," adds Roger. In addition to quality, performance, safety and good looks, the Mini mixers are easy to install. Furthermore, the built-in variants of Minilite and Miniduo are specifically designed and easier to install than other built-in valves, and the stylish shower kits and handsets will suit most themes and give excellent spray performance.

Manufactured and assembled in the UK, the mixers are ‘life cycle' tested to 150,000 on/off cycles - over tested to ensure product longevity and problem free use - carry a 3 year warranty and full service support.
