BLP UK is leading the way in manufacturing high quality wood based furniture components, and with social and environmental credentials high on their agenda, they were well placed in the competition to win a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice.

The company was notified in August that it was among the major winners in the Green Apple Environment Awards - one of the few accredited feeder schemes into the international campaign.

They were not only presented with their Green Apple Award at the House of Commons on Monday 10th November, but found on the day that they had won the prestigious Gold Award within the manufacturing category.

BLP have also been invited to join the National Green Heroes, an elite group of environmental achievers who use their experience to help thousands of others - and the environment - around the world. Successful companies receive their Hero plaques at an event on board The Royal Yacht Britannia.

The Green Apple Awards are now in their fifteenth year and attracted more than 500 nominations this year.

They are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-political, non-activist, non-profit environmental group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
