Intelligent storage approach from Blum
Published:  03 November, 2008

Blum approaches kitchen design - using all the space, the volume of the cabinets in the base units, on the walls, in the corners and even in the depth of the plinth and under the sink.

So, fixed shelves in base units are banished. Everything stored, at whatever level must be instantly and easily accessible by installing full-extension well organised drawers and internal pull-outs with interior division systems like ORGA-LINE and flexible gallery dividers. In corner units Blum's SPACE CORNER maximised the use of this difficult area and allows the user complete and immediate access to the very back of the unit at all levels. By extending base units drawers into the plinth area greater height space is achieved and normally "dead" areas like under and around the sink can be utilised for storing cleaning products and the like. On the walls units should be fitted with AVENTOS lift door systems to give easier access and save space in the main kitchen area. In  mid and full-height larder units Blum have developed zero-protrusion hinges for the doors so that the internal pull-outs can occupy the full width of the cabinet and this space saving is multiplied to make a significant difference.

So by introducing products, systems and designs like these, storage capacity can be increased up to 55% over a conventional kitchen.

Space is valuable - think about it!
