Meeting consumer demand through innovative designs

Marrying fashion with function is key for any kitchen designer. While on one hand consumers are eager to embrace the latest trends in their home, on the other they understand the need for practicality, especially in a room as hard-working as the kitchen. The latest cool glass work surface may give a kitchen the final ‘wow' factor but it quickly loses its appeal once scratches appear and wear and tear takes its toll.

Handleless kitchens have seen a revival this year thanks to the modern streamlined look they create. However, many homeowners are worried about the greasy finger marks or handprints that might accompany them, especially in a high-sheen gloss kitchen.

Fashionable designs still have to be usable and it's vital that retailers can offer a workable solution. For both Mezzo, our hugely popular gloss kitchen, and Nio, our new textured foil-wrap design, we have created a separate aluminium handle piece, inset into the top door edge. This innovative design means the door can be opened without touching the main frontal surface, yet still gives the appearance of a completely handleless kitchen.

With the very latest home and interior styles no longer being the preserve of the lucky few, we're always looking for ways to make kitchens multi-functional so that whether they are the busy hub of a family home or a show piece in the latest urban loft apartment, the homeowner can still enjoy a fashionable finish.
