Private Housebuilder Michael Shea took on the challenging mantle of building a zero carbon house on the island of Unst, Britain's most northerly island in the UK and Baumatic has been specifically selected as a partner in the project thanks to its own green credentials.
Michael had owned the site since 1983 but sadly, in 1992, the island was hit by hurricane force winds rendering the building beyond repair.
Michael comments: "This occurrence hastened a new beginning. We decided to build a completely different house on the site and set off to Canada and Scandinavia, as well as areas of the UK, for ideas on our eco house. We have been rigorous in our selection of products which had to meet our very stringent eco-standards and Baumatic products were a perfect fit for the project."
Richard Cristina, Product Marketing Director of Baumatic adds: "We take our eco-credentials very seriously and we are very proud to be involved in such an innovative project. Our portfolio of appliances offers a great choice of some of the most energy efficient product on the market, but without compromising on style."
