Technology expanding the showers market

Being cash rich and time poor has resulted in a desire for technology that helps make our busy lifestyles easier.  This trend has also found its way into the bathroom. However, there are practical benefits too. For example, we have seen dramatic growth in thermostatic showers - first as an ‘added value' trend but now more an issue of hygiene and safety.  In addition, precise thermostatic control helps reduce water and energy consumption.

The introduction of digital technology has also changed the way we control showers, offering not just precise control but options such as setting the length of time of a shower, favourite temperature and flow settings for different users, and remote control enabling you to switch the shower on before you get in it!

Smaller step changes include products that help reduce the build up of limescale, a problem suffered by 60% of the UK. A badly scaled shower mixer and showerhead can greatly impair the performance of the shower and lead to complete seizure in severe cases.  Showerheads designed to remove or prevent the build-up of limescale and internal components made from materials that prevent scale forming are becoming commonplace.

Then there is the increase in eco-friendly showers, including our own Eco showerhead and new eco showers shown below. Not only do these help save water, but also energy as less water needs to be heated.

To mention all the technological changes within the space available here is impossible, as there are many hidden features incorporated in today's shower products, at least there are in those made by Mira. We are experiencing exciting times with product technology and we all need to embrace these changes with open arms.
