Waterworld Solutions of Bury St. Edmunds continues to expand its comprehensive choice of stainless steel channel and tile-in drains for wetrooms and showers with the recent introduction of a range of wall-mounted models.
Suitable for installation in both solid and suspended floors, the new drains offer a completely different method of removing water from a shower by positioning the outlet within the base of the wall rather than in the floor as with conventional drains.
This outlet takes the form of a slot, available in straight lengths of 800, 900 and 1000 mm, plus similar sized right angled versions, with the water flowing away via a hopper containing a simple, two-piece plastic trap located beneath a triangular shaped removable lid.
This ingenious design provides a visually discreet layout and is easy to install as only a single floor slope is required to ensure water flows towards the slot. The drain is therefore ideal for use in conjunction with large floor tiles or cast, decorative slabs.
In addition, it is possible to use this new type of drain in an existing room by simply fitting an extra 15 mm of false wall to allow subsequent tiling to be carried down in the required position to meet the drain's built-in up-stand.
