Hettich's Easys takes the strain
Published:  06 June, 2008

Design possibilities and convenience in the kitchen are taken to a new level with Hettich's new Easys electronic drawer opening system.

Easys comprises an electronic drive which opens drawers, irrespective of width or load, with the merest touch anywhere on the drawer front.

Easys makes handle-less designs a really practical, as well as aesthetically-pleasing, proposition. Hands full? Hands dirty? No problem: a nudge with the elbow, hip or knee will do.

Easys mimics manual drawer opening in its operation. If it meets any resistance, it stops automatically, and can be opened normally in the event of a power cut.

When it comes to closing the drawer, no power is required, but Easys is combined with Hettich Silent System technology, to ensure smooth, silent closure.

The drive takes up minimal space between the drawer and the rear panel, leaving storage capacity unaffected.

Hettich UK managing director Tim Leedham commented: "Easys offers an unusual combination of practicality and luxury. It certainly makes life easier in the kitchen, but adds real sophistication, too. In terms of showroom appeal, it's hard to beat."
