I am not sure that there is any one reason why enclosure sales are so dominated by British manufacturers. It's too simplistic to say that all imports from the Far East are not up to our manufacturing standards or that European imports are unreliable when it comes to delivery. What I do know is that manufacturers like us invest extremely heavily into research and development, design, marketing, and perhaps most importantly, after sales service.

Retailers who use Manhattan, and more recently Metropolitan too, know that they only have to pick up a phone and any problem that they may have will be dealt with efficiently, speedily and in a friendly way; many of our after sales team have got to know our customers personally and this engenders brand loyalty.

British enclosure manufacturers excel in the area of product design, we, and many of our competitors, lead the way be it a simple bi-fold door to wet-rooms and walk-ins. We are always seeking to push the boundaries of form and function whilst continually challenging existing models to see how they can be improved.

I cannot see things changing in the short term; I truly believe that British shower enclosure manufacturers will continue to lead the way even in a depressed market, in fact, with the euro so strong against the pound perhaps there has never been a better time to take advantage by growing market share at the expense of our continental cousins.
