PWS top it off with walnut
Published:  11 April, 2008

Walnut is making a huge impression in both modern and traditional kitchen schemes, with consumers opting for the luxury and rich colour that walnut brings to an interior. The real beauty of walnut is its inherent ability to complement and contrast so well with many other materials.  Rich in versatility it can create a striking look, teamed with white or ivory doors or contrasted with stainless steel for a really dramatic effect.

Full stave walnut is a growing trend as it offers a unique point of difference with the staves varying between 80mm to 150mm in width and running the full length of the board to reveal a greater emphasis on the natural grain and character of the timber.

Lizzie Beesley, Senior Designer at PWS comments: "We predicted 2 years ago that walnut would become hot in kitchen design and initially were met with some degree of uncertainty as many thought darker timbers had had their day.  Fast forward to 2008 and the reality is that following its success on the continent walnut is now a preferred timber in both modern and classic schemes."
