Stainless steel adapts to changing fashion trends
Comment by Ian Kershaw, Managing Director, CDA
Published:  11 April, 2008

In a world where fashion impacts all areas of life and developing trends can be short lived the popularity of stainless steel comfortably continues to dominate in the kitchen appliance market. Ian Kershaw, Managing Director of CDA explains why he thinks stainless steel is still such a fundamental material in kitchen design.

The popularity of celebrity chefs and the influx of cooking programmes have brought stainless steel back into the hearts and minds of UK consumers.  Turn the pages of a glossy magazine and our senses will be heightened by the sight of a shiny stainless steel worktop, handsome American style side-by-side fridge freezers and glorious sparkling hobs.  Households across the country endeavour to emulate the look of the ‘professional' kitchen.

Taking it a step further manufacturers and designers have been busy creating appliances that embrace the stainless steel concept whilst adapting to the ever changing demands of the market place.  CDA's most modern designs for example fuse the desirable aesthetic of stainless steel with utterly modern black glass to striking effect.

So the professional look prevails with a whole host of co-ordaining stainless steel appliances across the board including ovens, hobs, dishwashers, laundry and refrigeration.  With consistent consumer demand and manufacturers introducing ever more innovative designs, it is clear that stainless steel is here to stay.
