Silent System: a quiet revolution
Published:  01 May, 2007

The soft-close unit, screwed to the hinge cup, can either be pre-mounted to the hinge by the kitchen manufacturer as standard, or quickly and securely added to the hinge cup at a later date

Hettich has developed a soft-close system which adds tremendous value thanks to its almost inaudible operation. Offered as an option or for retrofit, Silent System is suitable for all applications from pan drawers to hinged and sliding cabinet doors. It is one of the many innovations which Hettich will introduce at this year’s Interzum exhibition in Cologne in May, and is already available in the UK.

“Silent System” for hinges slows the closing hinged door gently and shuts it in almost total silence. The cushioning effect can be adapted to individual preferences using a small adjusting wheel. For Intermat hinges, the three options are clip-on, screw-mounting to the top or bottom carcase panel, and one version which screws to the hinge cup. The sleek, die-cast zinc adapters match the hinge perfectly.
