Among the numerous new launches from Duravit throughout last year, 2007 was an innovative time for baths. Blue Moon, designed by Jochen Schmiddem, is an attractive deep pool for indoor and outdoor use that allows the user to move around freely and bathe in weightless buoyancy.
Wellbeing additions include choice of whirlpool systems and coloured mood lighting, while ease of access makes the pool suitable for all ages. The unique design includes a teak or acrylic insert that creates a shelf and conceals the overflow, teak shelf that doubles as a bench and an optional stainless steel clothes stand. A simple square measuring just 140x140cm but with a generous depth of 53 cm, the user floats almost weightlessly in the warm water and can freely adopt different positions. Choose from acrylic or various light and dark wood finishes.
Also created by Jochen Schmiddem, Seadream, with its intelligent L-shaped geometry creates space for the ultimate bathing and showering experience with external measurements of only 163.5 x 110 cm. The generous tub depth of 57cm allows you to relax up to your neck in warm water while bathing and the optional stylish glass shower screen folds back 180 degrees to allow maximum access to the bath. Other options include whirlpool systems and a wide choice of wood panelling. There are also two steps that can be positioned to allow easy access to the bath in the same matching wood finish.
On the sanitaryware front, two new wash basins were added to the celebrated Bathroom_Foster series allowing even more flexible bathroom design. The 42.8 cm undercounter basin and the 50 cm console basin are the perfect complement to a wide variety of consoles and vanity units from Duravit's programme.
One of the most significant launches of the year was D-Code. In line with the strategy ‘Jeans to Dinner Jacket' Duravit is now able to serve all price points of the market. The new launch D-Code sanitaryware and furniture collection offers unprecedented design, quality and value for customers with entry-level budgets for both domestic and commercial applications. Created by Sieger Design, D-Code is ‘designer jeans' for the bathroom and is geared towards creating a timeless element in our everyday lives.
