Wet rooms and walk-in power showers might be all the rage, but they are no use to anyone with a tiny bathroom. And however small, a bathroom must, by definition, have a bath - you can't read a book or the Sunday paper in a shower. But, of course, there will always be times when speed is of the essence and a quick douche is required, which leaves a lot for designers to think about.
With the benefit of space, a designer can let the mind run riot and create such a masterpiece as the budget will permit. But it doesn't matter how big the budget is when the space is minimal; a designer can only specify what will physically fit. So there is always a market for neat ideas that make the best use of space.
Like shower-baths, for example, and like hand held wet-stick shower and tap combinations, use of which can be maximised within the footprint of the bathtub.
I enjoy a soak in the bath, when I have the time, and while I've still got hair, access to a shower will remain important to me! So the luxury of big enclosures or walk-in showers is all very well for those with plenty of space and money, but for those who haven't, good ideas will always count for a lot!
