The BMA at B&K
Published:  01 May, 2007

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) is all set to have a wonderful show at B&K Expo between May 13th-15th 2007, ExCel, London.

“We have a lot going on this year and B&K Expo provides us with the perfect opportunity to inform Industry about the work we’re doing,” says Yvonne Orgill, Chief Executive of the BMA.

“At this year’s B&K Expo,” she continues, “we are launching the virtual Bathroom Academy, some new study material and a new fact sheet. We will also be telling people more about our Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme and on top of all of that we are hosting a series of workshops and a seminar.”

The virtual Bathroom Academy will be available at www.bathroomacademy. co.uk and students - whether an installer, sales manager or designer - will have access to online enrolment, payment and testing. In addition, they will have easy access to all Generic Industry Guides, the Certification Programme and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Bathroom Academy Training Manager Phil Lumley says: “We have some fantastic success stories to share and I’m looking forward to demonstrating the new website and tempting some new students with our special offer of six Core Merits for the price of four.”

The BMA will also launch a new Generic Industry Guide - Domestic Water Systems – to enhance Bathroom Academy course material and stakeholders will notice that the Shower Controls Guide is completely revised and more comprehensive than ever.

A new Rate Your Bathroom fact sheet encompassing inclusive design developed to help retailers meet the needs of the independent living market place will also be available. This fact sheet ensures retailers ask the right questions of consumers and eradicates any awkwardness or embarrassment for both consumer and retailer by posing a series of questions making the product selection process easier.

The BMA Secretariat team will be on hand to provide stakeholders with more information about the BMA Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme, which is a voluntary scheme developed to raise awareness of water efficient products, promote best practice for water efficiency within the bathroom environment and help consumers make an educated choice.

The BMA workshops and seminar will be delivered by Industry experts, with the first taking place on Sunday, May 13th at 1.45pm covering inclusive design. This workshop offers advice on how best to capitalise on this growing, lucrative market.

On Monday, May 14th a Training Workshop will take place at 11.30am to demonstrate the importance of a professional, qualified workforce and proving how “getting it right first time” can improve efficiency, boost sales and increase profit, while at 1.30pm leading experts will deliver a seminar on “wet rooms” honing in on future design and trend predictions.

The last workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 15th at 2pm and will cover the highly relevant issues of water efficiency, helping delegates understand the complexities of government regulations and explaining how to best capitalise on the rapidly emerging market for water efficient bathroom products.

You will find the BMA on Stand A60. We look forward to meeting you there.
