Soft and gentle

Despite influences from TV programmes where kitchens change from being a dull corner of the house into a vibrant hub, the British public has opted for the softer look which they know will not offend when it comes to everyday living or selling their homes.

Whilst the need for the entry level 15mm market is still there, this year has seen a bigger demand for an 18mm colour co-ordinated cabinet offering, colours such as cream, white and walnut have shown us some good growth in 2007. The contract market this year has grown for us dramatically with the vast majority of the cabinets being 18mm, this proving that the new build sector is looking for a product with greater aesthetic appeal to aid them selling the properties.

Light colours give an impression of greater space in even the tiniest kitchen. Simple and understated the Shaker kitchen now combines contemporary design with its 19th century origins through the use of sink tops, taps and appliances whilst retaining its initial design concept for the traditionalist.

Traditional kitchens, in Beech, Maple, Natural Oak or Walnut offer the luxury of beautiful real wood whilst retaining the light which today’s buyers demand. This coupled with innovative design and soft close door and drawer systems gives consumers that little touch of added luxury. It also allows a practical kitchen with an ageless beauty and class to be created.

Contemporary Kitchens, in High Gloss neutral colours are currently hot sellers and look set to stay that way in the near future. They offer a “European” look for buyers searching for a more sophisticated style for their kitchen.
