According to Richard Partridge, Sigma 3’s Commercial Director, the key kitchen trend for 2008 will be the return of darker grained woods.
“We are definitely seeing a surge in popularity in natural wood, in dark, sumptuous colours, such as rich walnut, which works well in both contemporary and traditional kitchens.”
Richard also predicts flat slab doors, in increased colour options, and curves will remain big news: “more of our customers are finding that sharp, angular designs don’t create the right environment and lack warmth, so curves make a lot of sense” he says.
Another key feature, says Andy, is lighting: “Lighting isn’t purely functional, but should be as well thought out as the rest of the kitchen. Plinth lighting will be a growing trend this year. More customers are now requesting lighting inside display units too.”
