The growing sophistication of design software brings ever higher expectations from consumers. As a result, retailers are under constant pressure to maximise the effectiveness of their system investments. Experience can undoubtedly play a significant role, however effective and targeted training must also be a part of the equation if tangible benefits are to be achieved.
This places the onus fairly and squarely on software providers to constantly review their approach to training – not only from a current user point of view, but starting at grass roots level. At the forefront in meeting market demands, Planit International has joined forces with the Kitchens Bathrooms & Bedrooms National Training Group (NTG) and South Nottingham College to spearhead an initiative which focuses on attracting young design talent into the industry.
Involved in a number of education initiatives in recent years, Planit is keen to see the impetus of such courses grow. They offer advantages to everyone concerned – by enhancing the skills and employment prospects of students, as well as encouraging much needed young design talent to enter the KBB industry. Programmes like this are the way forward and it makes good economic sense for businesses in this sector to give them full support.
Planit places strong emphasis on educating those already using its flagship Fusion software, helping them to implement its features and functionality to their full potential in a way that benefits their business and customers.
With TV make-over shows raising public awareness of our industry, the government’s drive toward creating more opportunities for vocational training and thereby attract talented new blood, there’s never likely to be a better time – or way – for organisations in the KBB sector to invest in their own future.
