Cause a splash with a Splash-back

Splashbacks may not be the first thing to spring to mind considering a kitchen refurbishment, with larger more prominent pieces in the kitchen dominating design focus. However, splashbacks are a functional necessity, and so as the rest of the kitchen surges forward in design it is no surprise that splashbacks too are becoming more exciting in their aesthetics. Quite simply, when one is spending time and money on creating a ‘wow factor’ kitchen, it seems an oversight to scrimp on the finishing touches.

Splashbacks are now so varied in style, colour and material that there is almost certainly a design to suit every kitchen. Vibrant coloured glass splashbacks for example can easily and relatively inexpensively transform a kitchen; offering an immediate focal point for the room.

Complementary colour tones are also on offer, perfectly co-ordinating with hobs and hoods to offer a more subtle yet equally attractive addition to the kitchen.

The use of glass is not purely for aesthetics, however. As well as being easy to cut to any size, there are also hygiene advantages.

Glass is remarkably easy to clean; an essential benefit in a food preparation area. Overall, splashbacks should not be viewed as an afterthought, but rather a key design element that can transform and enhance the kitchen aesthetic.
