The UK Plumber of the Year 2017 competition (@UKPOTY), launched by JT, Bristan and Plumb Center, has revealed the fifteen finalists shortlisted for the prestigious competition.

With more entries than ever before, Watersafe, the official judging partner of the competition, had the tricky task of selecting fifteen finalists to go into the next stage of the competition, where the public will vote for who they believe deserves to be crowned UK Plumber of the Year 2017.

The final fifteen, in no particular order are:

  • Chris Ketchen – Havant, Portsmouth
  • Paul Maguire – Glasgow
  • Gareth Lloyd – Hereford
  • Thomas Foster – Dundee
  • Ian Duerden – Oldham
  • Tom Jenkins – Treorchy, Glamorgan
  • Lewis Page – Edinburgh
  • Phil Myers – Huyton, Liverpool
  • Drew Styles – Wigan

  • Ian Thorner – Telford, Shropshire
  • Liam Smith – Widnes
  • Scott Duncan – Huntly, Aberdeenshire

Now in its third year, the competition called on plumbers nationwide to enter in a bid to find Britain’s finest. The competition is designed to reward and recognise the remarkable talents within the UK’s plumbing industry and ask entrants to demonstrate their plumbing, service and business skills.

Paul Crossley, managing director of JT, said: “We’re now in the third year of the competition and I genuinely believe this is the strongest shortlist we have had. The exposure the competition has gained is bigger than ever which has led to an increase in entries. I wish everyone the best of luck in the next phase of the competition and I’d also like to pass on thanks to our friends at Watersafe for judging the entries, which is always a tricky task!”

Information on the fifteen finalists and how to vote features on www.UKplumberoftheyear.com where you can find a biography of each. The five plumbers with the most votes will be invited to an interview session with the judging panel, made up of experts from JT, Bristan, Plumb Center and Watersafe, who will then decide the winner.  The UK Plumber of the Year 2017 will win £10,000 worth of prizes, including JT, Bristan and Plumb Center products/vouchers plus products from Proper Job Beer Rothenberger, CK Tools, Salamander, Filplastic, First Stop and BigWipes.
