Glen Dimplex Home Appliances Launches Elite Retailer Scheme

New independent retailer range cooker support initiative being rolled out

Domestic appliance manufacturer Glen Dimplex Home Appliances has launched a new independent retailer support initiative, as part of its focus on supporting the independent electrical retail channel and increasing its share of the range cooker market.

Up to 50 independents, who display a minimum of six range cookers across GDHA’s Belling, Stoves and Britannia brands, will become Elite Retailers and benefit from a host of financial and support benefits, including high-tech display stands, improved margins and rebates.

The initiative will see GDHA, which recently secured its highest share of the range cooker market in more than six years, make a significant investment in each of the retail showrooms. The first Elite Retailers have already had their displays installed, with further display stands being rolled out in the coming months.

Other benefits will include increased support from GDHA’s independent sales team and exclusive promotional activities, such as cooker hood promos and extended warranties for consumers, plus staff incentives and competitions. Each Elite Retailer will also receive improved online presence on the brand websites, with biographies, images, product listings and measured web traffic.

The exclusive point of sale materials and displays available to Elite Retailers include a Hero display stand which incorporates a 10” touchscreen detailing key features and benefits of the range cookers, plus row display stands, branded plinths and backboards across all the GDHA brands.

One of the first to install the full Elite Retailer displays is Built-in Kitchen Appliances in Liverpool. Owner Steve Woods said: “This initiative sends out a really positive message in what is a very challenging market. We’ve always found GDHA great to work with. Becoming an Elite Retailer means you qualify for a range of great benefits and enhanced support – to there are a lot of plusses to signing up. We’re obviously aiming to increase sales of GDHA range cookers and this partnership presents benefits for both parties.”

Mark Davison, Managing Director of GDHA, said: “The range cooker market is a very important one for us and we are targeting significant growth in the next two years. Independent retailers are vital to us achieving that growth and this new initiative allows us to support them in a very tangible way in return for their loyalty and commitment to our brands.

“We think the new displays show the products at their very best and being an Elite Retailer gives the showrooms the opportunity to really maximise sales and grow their own businesses.”
