TKC’s Cartmel range offers a timeless Shaker-style kitchen featuring a beautiful soft matt finish.
Whilst contemporary high gloss kitchens are currently very much in vogue and continue to dominate the pages of glossy consumer homestyle magazines, there will always be a demand for more traditional Shaker-style kitchens. I would, however, question if the truly traditional kitchen has now become more of a niche market, making way for what I would term a ‘classic’ look.
PJH Group has recently unveiled a comprehensive brassware range, EUROSTREAM, exclusive to PJH and designed to complement its large choice of ceramics, baths and showers as featured in the current Bathrooms to Love Collection.
Bathroom brassware has become one of the key elements in bathroom design and despite its small size in comparison to baths and basins it can easily transform a room becoming one of the main focal points.
The range of BEST hoods features technologically advanced models all of which combine sleek functionality and styling to provide kitchens with a statement focal point.
With the current trend for contemporary open plan kitchen design, extraction is a key consideration. Beyond this though, hoods are becoming artistic pieces that combine form and function to become focal points of the kitchen.

According to a release from the event, IFA continues its positive development in 2014. This is confirmed by the demand by exhibitors, which reportedly remains at a high level. In view of this situation, some four months before the start of the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, the organizers, gfu and Messe Berlin, have expressed confidence in their ability to continue steering IFA on a course leading to increased growth.

Stylish and simple to install, Croydex’s collection of mirrors and mirrored cabinets features a wide range of contemporary and classic designs to suit any style of bathroom.
With mirrored doors, halogen downlighters and a fixed internal shelf, the Shire double door white illuminated cabinet will brighten any space whilst allowing cosmetics, shampoos and shower gels to be stored safely out of sight. The easy-to-install Medway features a sliding door with a fixed internal stainless steel shelf. Both are new for 2014 and supplied fully assembled.
When it comes to bathroom mirrors and cabinets, we know that consumers recognise it pays to pick stylish yet practical products that are easy to fit and make the most of their existing space.
Mirrors incorporating clever storage solutions are a great selling point in the smaller bathroom where keeping clutter under control can be tricky. When space is at a premium, compact designs that can be fitted above wash basins remain popular - particularly when they also double up as a mirror.
Inta is furthering its water-saving credentials with the introduction of Eco Air Handsets across its entire shower offering.
The handsets which can reduce water consumption by as much as 30% utilise Inta’s Eco Air technology to volumise the amount running through the shower body in order to maintain the optimum shower experience.
Stuart Gizzi, director at Inta explains why style no longer needs to be compromised when it comes to greener, safer showering:
“Formerly, showers that were considered economical or had added safety benefits would rank low in the style stakes - with chunky handsets and plastic detailing putting off those in search of a shiny and streamlined product.
Reginox’s Nevada (below left) is a sleek stainless steel sink that will complement any stylish classic or contemporary kitchen.
Available from stock as a single or 1.5 bowl configuration, both of which feature a deep angular bowl softened by subtle curves, Nevada incorporates a smooth integrated stainless steel drainer. An eye-catching square waste and overflow mirror the overall shape of the sink while a 10mm radius in each corner provides a uniform and minimalist design for a clean, uncluttered look.
So it looks as if we could finally be out of the woods with regard to the recession and I find myself looking at a different landscape when it comes to the kitchen sink market. One thing, however, hasn’t changed – the love affair that the UK has with stainless steel continues to have a resoundingly strong heartbeat.
Sure the growth of ceramics over the past few years has been noticeable, as has a small increase in granite-based products, but steel undoubtedly remains the soul of the kitchen sink market here in the UK.

Bushboard relaunched its premium Omega 40mm laminate worktop range at the end of February and it was on show at the KBB exhibition – with an on-trend mix of popular stones, trendy woodgrains and practical splashbacks in modish colours.
There are 16 new designs for worksurfaces and upstands and eight for splashbacks. Furthermore, Omega will be the first UK worktop range to include the world-class Sanitized® Actifresh anti-bacterial protection on all of its products.
Laminate splashbacks first came to the UK with German kitchens and have taken a good while to become established, but the pace of their acceptance has rapidly accelerated over the last three years. The fashionable designs and interesting textures available have changed the consumer’s perception of them completely now and they are no longer regarded as a trade-down alternative to tiles, but as a product that combines superb design and functional benefits. Tiles are losing ground rapidly in the kitchen sector to laminate splashbacks as they are far quicker and easier to install with simple joinery skills, there are no grout lines visible or to clean and they have immense design potential.
